I sat down with J. Alexander aka Miss J, the runway training diva from America’s Next Top Model today on the studio set of Paul Wharton Style in New York to talk about all things Top Model and Tyra Banks. I have a lot in common with Miss J. We’ve both spent years working with models, developing their talent, teaching them how to walk and really make a splash in the modeling business. I did my model coaching as the original MTV model coach on MADE, on Vh-1′s The Agency and TV Land’s She’s Got the Look. And over all that time, J. Alexander was doing his model coaching on America’s Next Top Model. Miss J says that he was one of the first people Tyra called when she first had the idea to do ANTM. So, with the recent news that J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker were not being brought back to the show next season, I wanted to know how he felt about it.

It turns out Tyra sent him a bouquet of flowers for his birthday just a few days before he got word that he was being let go… Tune in to see what Jay thinks about that gesture. I also asked Jay if he and Tyra were still friends. “Would you call Tyra” I asked… “The question is, would she call me back” says Jay. This was the most revealing and honest interviews I’ve done and I can’t wait for you all to see the entire show!
