Up Close & Personal with Tia Mowry (and baby Cree too!)

On Friday afternoon my crew and I headed over to Georgia Brown’s restaurant to set up our lights and cameras for a Paul Wharton Style TV interview with Actress, Author, Producer, Mommy and Wife, Tia Mowry! Well hold on, let me keep it real… Tia actually arrived before me BUT lights and camera were set up (I just missed that part 
. Some of you may know Tia from her hit reality series on The Style Network “Tia & Tamera”, others might have watched her for the past 6 seasons on the BET hit “The Game” and if you’re like me, you grew up watching Tia and her identical twin sister Tamera on “Sister Sister”! The comedic timing of those two coupled with the one of a kind humor and style of Jackee made that show a hugely successful series that is still in syndication today.
News broke last Wednesday that Tia would not be returning to The Game next season and so I knew the question on everyone’s mind was “why not”?! There have been several media reports saying that Tia was holding out for a huge pay day and since she didn’t get it she was leaving the show. “Absolutely Not” said Tia when I asked her… “No one from my team ever did any negotiating… I just really felt it was time to move on… I’ve been on TV shows since I was 14. They have a beginning and an end and people leave shows all the time. For me, it was time”. Tia also shared that her co-star Pooch Hall had been cast in a television pilot that they weren’t sure had been picked up yet. Pooch is also not returning to The Game next year.

Napoleon Bistro in Adams Morgan. Her adorable 9 month old son Cree joined us this time and I can’t tell you how much he melted my heart and reminded me that Fatherhood may not be such a bad option after all! I was having a ball playing with Cree when a text came in to Tia saying that her brother, Smart Guy Actor Tahj Mowry’s new show “Baby Daddy” on ABC Family was debuting on the exact same night (June 11th) as her Style Network show with her sister Tamera… My response “Well, that’s a good problem to have”!
