Event Spotlight: Debbie Allen Hosts CityDance’s Dreamscape at The Lincoln Theatre

One of my all time favorite artists, the one and only Debbie Allen will host this year’s CityDance annual gala dance performance, DREAMscape, on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 8 pm at Washington, D.C.’s Historic Lincoln Theatre.

CityDance’s DREAMscape will feature performances by some of the world’s top dance artists including Step Afrika!, Brooklyn Mack of The Washington Ballet; Ballroom stars Denys Drozdyuk & Antonina Skobina (who will be featured on Jennifer Lopez’s new hit show “World of Dance”); Cervilio Miguel Amador And Chisako Oga of the Cincinnati Ballet; Cartier Williams; Bruce Wood Dance Project; Kelly Sneddon, Andrew Brader, Greg Blackmon and Timothy Stickney of Complexions Contemporary Ballet and Cloud Movement. There will also be special appearances by CityDance students from wards across the city.

“We are thrilled to bring international dance superstars to D.C. for an evening of show-stopping dance. DREAMscape is a celebration of dance, of our youth, and of our vibrant city. It is one evening with a lasting impact –– celebrating the gifts of world class dancers and the dreams of our city’s most creative young people,” according to Alexe Nowakowski, CityDance President & CEO.
The proceeds from DREAMscape benefit CityDance’s DREAM program. DREAM is a nationally-recognized after-school program that provides dance training, performance opportunities, academic services and college readiness to students from underserved communities at schools and community sites across our nation’s capital.

“I am excited to be hosting CityDance’s 2017 DREAMscape Gala performance and to be supporting the CityDance DREAM program. Together we are empowering generations of creative, disciplined, and confident young dancers who will make this world a brighter place,” said DREAMscape host Debbie Allen.
For sponsors, the performance will be followed by a dance party with the DREAMscape artists hosted by Ms. Allen and Paul Wharton.

There will be an opportunity for press to interview Debbie Allen before DREAMscape. To schedule an interview contact Megan Piluk, CityDance Public Relations Manager, meganpiluk@citydance.net, 443-223-3361.
