To many of us, a good face mask is one thing we crave after a long day of work and now that Summer is here, the days are only getting hotter. Do you know what that means? Our skin is more prone to having higher amounts of oil due to humidity and sweat. We’ve got three face masks you can try within the comforts of your own home. Check them out!
Mask #1: Avocado and Cucumber
Naturally, avocados are already rich in nutrients because they contain vitamins A, B, E, and K. Adding it onto your face once in a while will improve your skin by a lot due to its fatty acids that help reduce inflammation. In addition, the cucumber will rejuvenate and hydrate the skin because of the high water it holds.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 an avocado
- 2 tablespoons blended cucumber
Clean your face, and pat dry. Apply the mask evenly and leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes. When your time is up, wash thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, as it dries out the much needed nutrients under your skin.
Mask #2. Clay and Witch Hazel
The witch hazel plant has many nutrients that help boost your health and benefits your skin. This is mainly because of its ability to relieve inflammation and soothe sensitive skin. The clay in this mask is the most important part! It will help to rid of excess oil on the face. Clay extracts the extras from the surface layer of your skin in order to control its shine. On the other hand, it hydrates your skin, and detoxifies the dirt you don’t see that lies under your pores.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 tablespoon Bentonite clay
- 1/2 tablespoon with Witch Hazel (Alcohol-Free) Toner
Mix ingredients together in a small container with a wooden spoon (or large popsicle stick) and apply to face evenly. Leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water and a soft washcloth. Hard washcloths leave micro tears on your skin that are not visible.
#3. Honey, Clay, and Apple Cider Vinegar
Raw Honey moisturizes and hydrates your skin leaving it soft and glowy. Honey also causes your blemishes to be smoothened out due to the Rutin compound it contains. In this mask, the honey breaks the excess oil up while the clay extracts the oil. The Apple Cider Vinegar removes dead skin cells and helps dry up acne spots.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon Raw Honey
- 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Bentonite clay
Mix together in a bowl with a wooden or rubber spoon and apply to face, then leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse off the mask with warm water, followed by a wash cloth with cold water to lock in pores.
